Opening hours on Wix: display them and keep them updated automatically

On Wix, opening hours are usually a plain Text element. Every change (vacation, public holiday, new winter hours) means opening the editor, editing, republishing… and remembering to do the same on Google and Facebook. Forget once, and your site contradicts your Google listing.

The Horair integration for Wix updates that text by itself, every time your hours change.

How it works

Horair sends your hours to your Wix site on every change. They are stored in a Wix CMS collection, then shown on the page. The text is rendered server-side by Wix, so it is visible to search engines, unlike a widget loaded in JavaScript.

Step-by-step setup

Requirements: Dev Mode (Velo) turned on in the Wix editor, and a published site.

  1. Collection: in CMS, create a HorairHours collection with the fields data (Object), lastT (Number) and receivedAt (Date and Time).
  2. Code: download the Horair Wix integration and copy backend/http-functions.js, backend/horair-store.js, backend/horair.web.js and public/horair.js into the same folders of your site.
  3. Key: in Horair, open your location → Channels → Website plugin and copy the key. In Wix: Developer Tools → Secrets Manager, add a HORAIR_KEY secret.
  4. Connect: publish the site, then open https://your-site/_functions/horairConnect once. The “Horair connected” message confirms the connection.
  5. Display: add a Text element with the ID horairHours, and in the page code:

Tip: keep the hours in Settings → Business Info consistent too, as Wix uses them for its own structured data.

The real win: a single update
